TECC Sponsorship Needs

We would like to extend an invitation to your organization to become one of a select group of sponsors for TECC, a US-China non-profit corporation devoted to leading teams of US and Chinese students in carrying out projects focused on technology in education. We are an entirely student-initiated non-profit devoted to connecting students from the US and China to work together on social projects. TECC projects include our Summer Institutes, which train middle school teachers in rural China, and the DXSX book drive, which has sent over 10,000 books to libraries in rural China.

We believe that connecting future leaders through collaboration and friendship is a very important way to encourage social innovation in a global community. We hope that you can support us in achieving our vision.

TECC is entirely run by student volunteers. All donations go directly towards our projects. Suggested forms of contribution include:

  • FINANCIAL DONATION: We appreciate any monetary support: the various levels of contribution are outlined in the Sponsorship Levels section.
  • TRANSPORTATION/FREQUENT FLYER MILES: In order to conduct the Summer Institutes, we will require transportation for organization officers to the Summit site from the United States, as well as transportation for teachers and organization officers to and from the project sites and the Summit site. Any contributions in the form of transportation, including frequent flyer miles, would be greatly appreciated.
  • HARDWARE DONATIONS: As part of our Summer Institutes, we will be providing computers to middle schools in rural China. We will also need projectors for the classrooms, and donations of routers would also help facilitate the technology usage and education program. Any donations of new or used computers, projectors, routers, or other hardware would be greatly appreciated.
  • SOFTWARE DONATIONS: Any software contributions would be greatly appreciated and go towards the technology usage and education curriculum of the Summer Institutes. In particular, contributions of Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office with FrontPage 2000/2003 would be greatly appreciated. In addition, the following software is also highly relevant to our curriculum modules: Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, Borland JBuilder 9.0, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, JSP engine BEA Weblogic 7.0, and ASP engine Microsoft IIS 5.0.
  • HOUSING: In order to conduct the Summer Institute, we will require lodging for the Summit as well as in the project sites. We would appreciate any contributions in the form of housing.
  • PUBLICITY: We appreciate any public acknowledgment, support and/or increased awareness your organization can provide for TECC and our mission, such as press releases or announcements within and outside of your organization.
